Mission Statement
This building is dedicated to children. May all who pass through laugh with abandon, play without harm; realize their worth; be anxious for nothing; anticipate the future; learn the skills to turn dreams into reality.
PRIORITIES
To respect the inherent value of every person.
To develop the abilities of individuals.
To promote lifelong learning.
SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY
Maintaining a productive school climate requires a focus on achievement, a shared belief that all students can achieve, and people who collaborate and make decisions by consensus.
Teachers are the instructional leaders. It is their responsibility to make sure that curriculum and learning are aligned, that grouping and organizational arrangements are appropriate, that a variety of teaching strategies are used, and that learning time is maximized. They should know what children are to learn and emphasize mastery of key concepts. Students have a responsibility to attend regularly and punctually, to comply with the rules of the school, to respect the rights of others, and to be accountable for their conduct. They should know what is expected of them and be willing to do their best to cooperate and be actively involved in the learning process.
Parents and community agencies must accept their role in supporting the policies and programs of the school. They should work together to provide a home environment that values education and helps children develop the confidence to face the social and academic challenges of their school experience.
